The Dallas Cowboys are reportedly close to slapping the franchise tag on wide receiver George Pickens, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The cost associated with this move would be approximately $28 million guaranteed. Club owner Jerry Jones would like to be able to come to a long-term deal with Pickens. It was therefore to begin negotiations that the decision was taken.
“I spoke to George often. He is better than he showed with us and has huge potential. I hope we can come to an agreement for him to be a Cowboy for a long time,” Jones told the Cowboys website.
Pickens had his best career season with 90 catches, 1,409 yards and nine touchdowns.
