Danantara Prepares State-Owned Enterprise Portfolio for Miami G20 Summit

Danantara Indonesia is preparing a portfolio of state-owned enterprise projects to pitch to international investors during the G20 Summit in Miami, United States, in December 2026. Chief Executive Officer Rosan Roeslani stated that the upcoming investment proposals will focus on partnerships designed to support the development and optimization of state assets. “We are preparing a list to ensure that the partnerships align with programs to enhance or optimize SOE assets,” Rosan told reporters following a limited cabinet meeting with President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.

The planned international outreach contrasts sharply with current trade totals, as bilateral trade between Indonesia and the United States reached $32.34 billion between January and August 2026. That figures marks an 11.82% increase compared to the same period in the prior year, according to Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto. While bilateral trade climbs, the Indonesian government is targeting a total of $33 billion in bilateral trade for the full year 2026 to support domestic industries and strengthen supply chains.

Targeting US Investments in Manufacturing and Semiconductor Growth

US investment in Indonesia reached $3.4 billion during the first three quarters of 2026, rising from approximately $3 billion in 2025. This growth positions the United States as Indonesia’s fourth-largest foreign investor, while the US remains the nation’s second-largest export destination. Government officials aim to expand this economic footprint by focusing on manufacturing, digital technology, artificial intelligence, and energy partnerships.

Airlangga emphasized that incoming partnerships must deliver technology and specialized expertise alongside capital to strengthen domestic supply chains. The semiconductor sector represents a central pillar of this strategy. Indonesia’s semiconductor market is projected to expand from $5.08 billion in 2025 to $7.07 billion by 2030.

Addressing Business Obstacles Ahead of US Discussions

Alongside pitching asset optimization projects, the government intends to address operational hurdles during discussions with international partners. Airlangga noted that the administration remains open to receiving complaints from US companies operating within the country and will coordinate with relevant ministries to resolve them. The agenda for the Miami summit is also expected to feature a forum between Danantara and the Milken Institute, exploring potential investment cooperation linking Danantara, the United States, and ASEAN.
