Dayoung Wins Best Solo Honor at 2026 KGMA in Seoul
Singer Dayoung accepted the Best Solo prize at the 2026 Korea Grand Music Awards artist day on November 7 at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul. The annual event marks the third year for the music celebration established by Ilgan Sports.
Accepting the trophy, Dayoung reflected on her previous win at the ceremony. “I received the Best Female Solo award at KGMA a year ago, and thanks to that prize, the songs I worked hard on were able to come out into the world in 2026,” she said.
Dayoung Launches Solo Career with Charting Singles and Collaborations
Dayoung debuted in 2016 as a member of the group WJSN, known for tracks like “Secret,” “As You Wish,” and “Unnatural.” She launched her solo career in September of last year with the digital single “Gonna Love Me, Right?” followed this year by the new song “What’s a Girl Do?”
Her solo debut single “Body” gained traction with an energetic performance, reaching number nine on the Melon Top 100 chart and taking a music show first-place trophy. She recently expanded her musical range by collaborating with Jay Park on the single “Flirty.”
