Del Angel Named Big Ten Diver of the Week

MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. – University of Minnesota diver Vivi Del Angel has been recognized with the big Ten Diver of the Week award for the week of February 4th, as announced by the conference.

Del Angel’s outstanding performance was instrumental in the Gophers’ victories against Purdue and northwestern at the recent B1G Triple Duals. She achieved a remarkable sweep of both women’s diving events,securing first place in the women’s 3-metre with a score of 339.65 and the women’s platform with a score of 331.30.

This marks Del Angel’s first Diver of the Week honor for the 2025-26 season and represents Minnesota’s first weekly award as November 11th.

The gopher swimming and diving team will next compete at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center for the NCAA First Chance meet this weekend. This unscored meet provides a crucial chance for athletes to achieve NCAA qualifying marks before the start of postseason competition. Events are scheduled to begin on Friday, February 6th, at 5:00 PM (CT).
