Demon Lord: Just A Block, a unique action roguelite from developer YuWave and publisher Skystone Games, is set to launch on PC via Steam on Wednesday, April 29, 2026. A demo is currently available on Steam, boasting a “98% positive review score” [Steam Demo Page].

Reclaim the Throne

The game casts players as a decapitated Demon Lord seeking revenge against the Black Dragon Queen Heyla, who usurped the throne. The journey involves reuniting with former allies and uncovering the mystery behind the Demon Lord’s initial imprisonment.

Unique Gameplay Mechanics

Demon Lord: Just A Block features a distinctive movement system where the world only moves when the player does, allowing for both strategic, step-by-step planning and quick-paced, reflex-driven combat. Combat is grid-based, challenging players to face off against enemies like slippery slimes, man-eating plants, and giant jumping spiders.

Customization and Combat Options

Players can customize their Demon Lord with a flexible build system, combining 14 different weapons, 10 archetypes, and 200 abilities. Options include the Eyeball Blaster, Hero’s Greatsword, summoning bats, or deploying bombs. Tactical choices like Turtle Tactics for defense or Shed-shell Tactics for offense add depth to the gameplay.

Gargantuan Enemies and Procedural Generation

The game features unique boss encounters inspired by classic arcade puzzlers. Procedurally generated levels ensure that every playthrough offers fresh surprises and different endings. Players will encounter unpredictable elements, such as a tree dropping either an apple or a bomb.
