Dentist Sentenced to Life in Colorado Wife Murder Case

A Colorado dentist, James Craig, has been sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of his wife, Angela Craig. The case, which shocked the state, revealed a meticulously planned crime driven by a desire for a new life and financial gain.

The Crime and Investigation

Authorities discovered evidence suggesting Craig intentionally poisoned his wife with a lethal combination of cyanide, arsenic, and tetrahydrozoline, a chemical found in eye drops. Investigators found that Craig had researched lethal dosages of arsenic and methods to simulate a heart attack using online searches. He also purchased potassium cyanide and eye drops online. Security camera footage captured Craig entering Angela’s room with a syringe shortly before her death.

Motive: Passion and Finances

According to prosecutors, Craig was involved in an extramarital affair with a woman named Karin Cain and sought to end his marriage to avoid the financial repercussions of a divorce. He attempted to cover up the crime by pressuring his children to create false videos and even requested another inmate to write a fabricated suicide note purportedly from Angela.

The Defendants

James Craig was sentenced to life in prison after a trial that garnered significant attention. The investigation also identified Eddie Wide III, a Clark County juvenile probation officer, who died by suicide after fatally shooting a man in Las Vegas in December 2025. Wide had been employed by Juvenile Justice since 2014.

Other Recent Cases

Recent cases under review by the California Department of Justice, pursuant to California Assembly Bill 1506, include incidents in Alameda County, Richmond, San Bernardino, Fontana, and Los Angeles involving officer-involved shootings. These investigations aim to determine potential criminal liability.

North Las Vegas Shooting

In a separate incident in North Las Vegas, a shooting at an apartment complex resulted in five deaths and left a 13-year-old hospitalized. Police responded to the Craig Ranch Villas after 10 p.m. And found two women, aged in their 40s and 50s, dead from gunshot wounds.
