Deputy Regent of Klaten Dies – Tragedy at 33

Klaten: Deputy Regent of Klaten, Benny Indra Ardhianto, passed away, on Saturday, February 7 2026. Benny died at the age of 33 years. This sad news was confirmed by the Acting Head of the Protocol and Communications Section of the Klaten Regional Secretariat, Rizqan Iryawan.

“It’s true (the Deputy Regent of Klaten died). The information was earlier at 10 o’clock,” said Rizqan when contacted by telephone, Saturday, February 7 2026.

However, he could not provide a detailed explanation regarding the cause of Benny’s death. He revealed that Benny had been treated at Kariadi Hospital in Semarang due to illness for the last two weeks.

“The family can explain the illness of Mas Wabup (Deputy Regent). He was previously hospitalized at Kariadi Hospital for approximately two weeks,” explained Rizqan.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Solo Gerindra Party DPC, Ardianto Kuswinarno, expressed his deep sorrow over the death of Benny Indra Ardhianto. As a fellow Gerindra Party cadre, he prayed that his sins would be forgiven for the deceased.

“I received news from his family earlier. On behalf of myself, the Chairman of DPC Solo, I would like to express my condolences for the death of the late Deputy Regent of Klaten, Mas Benny, and the son of the Deputy Chairman of DPRD Klaten, Mas Hariyanto. Hopefully the deeds during his life will be accepted by Allah and his sins will be forgiven and we as the administrators of DPC Gerindra Solo will share our deepest condolences,” said Ardianto.

Benny Indra Ardianto was born in Klaten on April 14 1992. A graduate of the Faculty of Economics (S1) and the Postgraduate Program (S2) in Business Administration at Gadjah Mada University (UGM) Yogyakarta, he had an entrepreneurial background before entering the world of politics.

Benny, who is a cadre of the Gerindra Party, is running as a candidate for deputy regent in the 2024 Klaten Regent Election contestation paired with Hamenang from the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP). Hamenang-Benny managed to win the 2024 Klaten Regent Election with 395,092 votes or 52.63 percent of the total valid votes.
