Diplo, the renowned DJ and producer, has found a unique way to combine his passions for dance music and fitness with the creation of Diplo’s Run Club. Inspired by a spontaneous post-marathon experience, the event series has quickly gained popularity, attracting thousands of participants in cities across the country.
From Miami Marathon to Run Club Inspiration
The concept for Diplo’s Run Club originated in 2022 after Diplo completed the Miami Half Marathon. He unexpectedly found himself at Space nightclub shortly after finishing the race, still wearing his bib. He described the experience as “the best time ever,” feeling clear-headed and enjoying the music in a new way. Diplo’s Run Club was born from this experience, aiming to recreate the feeling of enjoying dance music after physical exertion.
The Run Club Experience
Diplo’s Run Club events feature a 5K run followed by a post-race concert with Diplo and other artists. The Miami event, held at Maurice A. Ferré Park, offers a scenic route through the city with waterfront and skyline views. The event is designed to appeal to both runners and music fans, creating a unique and energetic atmosphere.

The Miami Run Club will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Maurice A. Ferré Park. Packet pick-up will take place on Friday, January 16, at the Miami Worldcenter. Diplo’s Personal Best
Diplo himself is an avid runner, having completed a 5K in 19:50 in New York, though he admitted to throwing up at the conclude. He ran a 21:59 or 22:22 in Phoenix, averaging just over seven-minute miles. He noted that one runner in Phoenix completed the 5K in an impressive 15 minutes and 20 seconds.
Expansion and Future Events
After a successful launch in San Francisco, Diplo’s Run Club has expanded to multiple cities, including Phoenix. The team behind the event, including Teamwork and Wasserman Music, continues to plan future events, bringing the unique combination of fitness and dance music to new locations.
