The Disney Afternoon Collection Brings 90s Nostalgia to Switch and Switch 2

The Disney Afternoon Collection, a compilation of classic Disney NES and SNES games, has arrived on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, offering a trip down memory lane for fans of the 90s Disney Afternoon programming block. Originally released in 2017 for PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One, this updated version expands the lineup with two new titles: Goof Troop and Bonkers.

A Blast from the Past

The collection features a total of eight games, including DuckTales 1 & 2, Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers 1 & 2, TaleSpin, Darkwing Duck, Goof Troop, and Bonkers. This marks the first time Goof Troop and Bonkers have been released on Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2. The games retain their original style and gameplay, offering an authentic retro experience.

New Features and Quality-of-Life Improvements

Digital Eclipse has included several features to enhance the experience for both nostalgic players and newcomers. These include:

  • Rewind: Correct missed jumps and other mistakes.
  • Save: Mark progress within the games.
  • Time Attack & Boss Rush: Test speedrun skills with online leaderboards (available for NES games).
  • Music Player: Relive the iconic soundtracks.
  • Gallery Mode: Explore concept art and behind-the-scenes content curated by Digital Eclipse’s historians.

SNES Titles Miss Boss Rush and Time Attack Modes

Although the addition of Goof Troop and Bonkers is welcome, the Time Attack and Boss Rush modes are not available for these SNES titles, a point of disappointment for fans of those games on the SNES. Despite this, the inclusion of concept art and the music player provide alternative ways to enjoy the SNES additions.

A Nostalgic Experience for All Ages

The Disney Afternoon Collection offers a charming experience for players of all ages. The save and rewind features are particularly helpful for newcomers or those revisiting the games after a long break. The collection is available digitally on February 26, 2026, and a physical edition, including collectible cards, stickers, and more, will follow on May 29, 2026. Atari is publishing the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 versions.

Where to Buy

The Disney Afternoon Collection is available for purchase on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
