According to the latest press release, issued by the Public Health Directorate (DSP) Dolj, on February 3, the county is, from a statistical and medical point of view, at levels that, for the time being, do not predict danger regarding the seasonal flu. DSP Dolj representatives characterize the period, prior to the communique, as “sporadic flu activity”.

Thus, according to DSP Dolj, in the reference period, the fifth week of 2026, “there were 1,498 cases of IACRS (Acute Respiratory Tract Infections of the Upper Respiratory Tracts), 408 cases of acute pneumopathies and 245 cases of influenza. All cases of influenza were confirmed by rapid antigenic tests (influenza type A). The cases presented themselves at hospitals (75 hospitalized and 49 outpatients) and at family doctors (121 cases)”.

Most of the cases of flu consisted of mild forms, in a weight of 80%, the rest being medium forms. “So far, there have been no serious forms of flu and no deaths from this disease. The total number of cases of respiratory viruses and flu registered this week is 2151, a decrease compared to the values recorded in the same period last year (4,378) and a decrease compared to the previous week (2,164). The population incidence rate of IACRS cases was 222.50 o/ooooflu 36,39 o/oooo and of pneumopathy was 60.60 o/oooo. The share of hospitalizations in the total number of cases was 14.50%. Regarding the flu vaccination of the population from risk groups, the flu vaccination is carried out according to Ord. MS 3120/2023, by prescribing, issuing and settling in the compensation regime of immunological drugs in the offices of family doctors. Until this date, the number of people vaccinated in Dolj County is 61,776. Since there is evidence of the circulation of influenza viruses in the population, we characterize the week by sporadic influenza activity”, it is also specified in the press release DSP Dolj.
