Donald “hot Rod” Rivers, a resident of Butler, Pennsylvania, and Ormond Beach, Florida, passed away on december 11, 2025, at the age of 80. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, known for his passion for music, air shows, and motorcycle rallies.

Early Life and Family

Born on May 5, 1945, in Medina, Ohio, Donald was the son of Thomas Rivers and Pearl Gilboux. He was preceded in death by his sister,Judy Goepfert,and brother,Thomas Rivers. He is survived by his wife, Linda (Steinheiser) Rivers, sons Kurt and Brian (Yolanda) rivers, and grandchildren Luke (Yasmin) and Selena Rivers. He is also survived by his sisters, Bonnie (Bob) VanGorder and Sandy (Ken) Musko, and also numerous nieces and nephews.

A Life Filled with Passion

Donald Rivers, affectionately known as “Hot Rod,” lived a life centered around his hobbies and community. He was a dedicated musician, entertaining in the Butler area with his bandmates for many years. He also regularly performed guitar at the American Legion in the Lyndora Dance Hall,becoming a familiar and appreciated figure in the local music scene.

Beyond music, Donald had a lifelong love for air shows and motorcycle rallies, traveling across the country to attend these events.This passion reflects a spirit of adventure and a desire to connect with like-minded enthusiasts.

Legacy and Memorial Arrangements

All services were held privately through Spencer D. Geibel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, located at 140 New Castle Rd, Butler, PA 16001.
