Dornecy Celebrates Carnival and Plans Upcoming Community Events

The village of Dornecy, France, recently hosted its second annual carnival, bringing a vibrant and colorful atmosphere to the community. Alongside the festivities, several events are planned for the coming months, fostering a sense of togetherness and offering activities for all ages.

Carnival Festivities

This year’s carnival, organized by Dornecy en fête, took place on Saturday afternoon. Approximately one hundred attendees enjoyed free makeup services, adding to the cheerful spirit of the event. Children participating in the parade were treated to a pancake and a drink, even as adults enjoyed coffee or mulled wine with a crepe or waffle.

The parade itself featured a lively procession through the village streets, punctuated by a choreographed performance and candy tossed to the delighted onlookers.

Dornecy en fête and the Dornecy school cooperative have a full calendar of events planned:

• Easter Animation and Decoration Workshop: Sunday, March 1st, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the premises next to the town hall.
• Tarot and Belote Animation: Sunday, April 5th.
• Tartiflette Evening: Saturday, March 14th, at 7:30 PM at the Villiers-sur-Yonne village hall. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 06.83.26.33.90.
