DPR Commission I Supports Indonesia’s Rejection of Somaliland Recognition by Israel
Jakarta – Vice Chairman of DPR Commission I, Dave Laksono, supports the Indonesian Government’s strong rejection of Israel’s recognition of Somaliland’s sovereignty, the separatist territory of the Federal Republic of Somalia. Dave stated that Israel’s recognition was carried out unilaterally.
“Indonesia’s stance in rejecting Israel’s move to recognise Somaliland as an self-reliant country is the right decision and consistent with our foreign policy principles,” Dave said when contacted on Friday, January 2, 2026.

He emphasized that Indonesia has consistently committed to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries, as outlined in the United Nations Charter.
