DPS Claims First Electoral Victories in 2026 Local Elections in Kirkovo Municipality

The Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS) has announced its first electoral victories for 2026 in the partial local elections held in the municipality of Kirkovo, Bulgaria, on February 22, 2026. The announcement was made by DPS chairman Delyan Peevski, according to statements released by the party’s press center.

Peevski Expresses Gratitude and Commitment

Delyan Peevski expressed his gratitude to voters who supported the DPS, stating, “First of all, I aim for to thank the people who trusted us once again! They should know that for us their trust is our irrevocable commitment!”

Newly Elected Mayors

Peevski congratulated the newly elected mayors of Valchanka town hall and Druzhintsi town hall, both within the Kirkovo municipality:

  • Husein Chilingir – Mayor of Valchanka town hall
  • Asen Pachev – Mayor of Druzhintsi town hall

Acknowledgement of Election Staffs

The DPS chairman also extended congratulations to the election staffs of the Kardzhali district and Kirkovo municipality for their efforts during the campaign.
