12th Green Schools Recognition Celebrates Environmental Projects
On Monday, November 17th, the auditorium of the Polo Saavedra in Buenos Aires hosted the 12th edition of the Green Schools Recognition. The event brought together teachers, principals, and supervisors from 726 schools to share and celebrate environmental projects developed throughout the school year.
Attending Authorities
The event was attended by:
- Mercedes Miguel, Minister of Education for the City of Buenos Aires.
- Inés Cruzalegui, Undersecretary for Learning Management.
- Angélica Gómez Pizarro, operational Director for Education for Sustainability.
Authorities highlighted the schools’ commitment to environmental education and the daily work of promoting student responsibility through actions and content that encourage sustainable habits in their communities.
Notable Recognitions
In this edition, 130 schools achieved the maximum distinction of “Dedicated School”, recognizing their sustained work over the years and the multiplication of experiences with other institutions.
School districts N° 3, 4, 8, 9, 14, 15 and 20 were also recognized for organizing congresses, days, and exchange meetings.Additionally, 15 teachers received special recognition for their 10 years of work as environmental references.
For the fourth consecutive year,representatives from schools in other municipalities and cities across the country received their diplomas as part of the Federal Network of Green schools,an initiative that promotes environmental education throughout the national territory through the exchange of experiences and best practices.
