Ego AURA-R2 Robot Mower Range: Wire-Free Precision for Complex Gardens

Ego has launched the AURA-R2 robot mower lineup, designed for lawns up to 6,000 m² and capable of navigating complex gardens with up to 40 different mowing zones—all without the necessitate for boundary wires. The range, available from March 2026, starts at £1,799.

Wire-Free Navigation with PATH IQ™

The AURA-R2 series utilizes Ego’s new PATH IQ™ navigation system, a combination of positioning, vision, and artificial intelligence technologies. This allows the mowers to map, adapt, and correct in real-time, delivering precise mowing without wasted passes Ego Power+. PATH IQ™ integrates RTK*, VSLAM*, and VIO* technologies for centimetre-level accuracy.

AURA-R2 Models and Capabilities

The AURA-R2 range consists of three models:

• RMR1500E: Designed for lawns up to 1500 m².
• RMR3000E: Suitable for larger lawns.
• RMR6000E: Capable of handling lawns up to 6,000 m².

All models can handle slopes of up to 50% and offer adjustable cutting heights from 20mm to 90mm EGO.

Smart Features and Connectivity

The AURA-R2 mowers offer extensive control and customization through the Ego Connect app, allowing users to monitor mowing progress, location, and battery status remotely. Built-in security features include PIN protection, GPS tracking, geofencing alerts, and remote locking. The mowers also feature integrated headlights for low-light operation and a 180-degree front bumper for navigating tight corners.

An IP66 rating ensures the mowers are fully weather-resistant and can be cleaned with a pressure washer. A rain sensor automatically returns the mower to its charging station when wet conditions are detected.

Obstacle Detection and Mowing Patterns

The AURA-R2 utilizes a dual-camera system to detect and avoid obstacles such as pets, people, and garden features in real-time EGO. It employs an intelligent stripe-mowing pattern, alternating mowing angles to prevent visible tracks and reduce grass wear. A daily micro-cutting system trims small amounts of grass, producing fine mulch that feeds the soil and promotes healthy growth.
