El Paso Offers Free Reused Paint to Residents at Collection Stations
El Paso residents can now collect free reused paint from city collection sites under a new initiative launched by the El Paso Environmental Services Department. The program aims to reduce chemical waste in local landfills by distributing recovered paint in five-gallon containers to anyone who presents a recent water bill and official identification matching the address.
The distribution program operates on a first-come, first-served basis with a limit of five gallons per customer per visit. Officials recommend arriving early due to limited inventory at each of the designated Citizen Collection Stations across the city.
Collection Station Locations and Operating Hours
The Citizen Collection Stations maintain operations from Tuesday through Saturday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Eligible residents can access the free paint and other disposal services at four designated locations throughout El Paso:
* North: 4501 Hondo Pass Dr.
* Central: 2492 Harrison Ave.
* West: 121 Atlantic Rd.
* Valley / East: 1034 Pendale Rd. and 3510 Confederate Dr.
* What condition is the paint in? The Department of Environmental Services distributes used and recovered paint that remains in optimal condition for reuse.
* What do I need to bring to pick up paint? Residents must bring an official government-issued identification alongside a recent water bill showing a matching El Paso address.
* Can I collect paint for a business or organization? The program serves individual residents of the city rather than commercial entities, and limits distribution to five gallons per customer per visit.
