El Salvador U-20 Squad Begins Concacaf Qualifier Campaign in Nicaragua
Managua, Nicaragua – February 21, 2026 – El Salvador’s Under-20 national team has arrived in Managua, Nicaragua, to compete in the Concacaf 2026 U-20 Qualifier. The tournament, running from February 23rd to March 4th, will determine teams advancing to the 2026 Concacaf U-20 Championship.
Group A Challenge
The Selecta U-20, coached by Erick Dawson Prado, is placed in Group A alongside Suriname, Belize, Saint-Martin, Grenada, and French Guiana. Their opening match is scheduled for Monday at 8:00 p.m. Local time against French Guiana, a crucial game to start their qualifying journey.
Tournament Significance
The Concacaf U-20 Qualifier is not only a pathway to the U-20 Championship but also offers opportunities to qualify for the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games and the 2027 Pan American Games. The 2026 Concacaf U-20 Championship will serve as a qualifier for both the 2027 FIFA U-20 World Cup and the 2028 Summer Olympics.
