Elán Announces Farewell Concert in Prague, Marking the End of an Era

The iconic Slovak pop-rock band Elán will perform a farewell concert at Prague’s O2 arena on June 9, 2026, bringing an end to their illustrious career. The concert, originally scheduled for June 6 at the Eden Stadium, will feature former members of the group, celebrating 45 years since the release of their debut album, The Eighth Continent.

A Final Performance and a Legacy of Music

Frontman Jožo Ráž announced the band’s decision to conclude their concert career in a video published on YouTube. “We’ll play one more time, in memory, and that’s the end of it,” Ráž stated, clarifying that the 2026 concerts will be their last. iDNES.cz reported on the announcement.

The Prague concert will be a special event, featuring a lineup of former Elán members. Guitarists Juraj Farkaš, Juraj Burian, Henry Tóth, drummers Zdeno Baláž, Gabo Szabó, Ďuso Petrus, Juraj Kuchárek and Boris Brna, bassist Viktor Hidvéghy, keyboardist Fero Turák, violinist Marián Svetlík, violist Juraj Madari and trumpet players Samuel Šimek and trombone player Martin Haas are all expected to participate. O2 arena confirmed the guest list.

A History of Success

Formed in 1968, Elán has released 15 studio albums, five English records, and numerous compilations, earning them 25 platinum records.
