Elder soares Concludes Brazil visit, Praises Faithfulness of Members
Elder Ulisses Soares of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and his wife, Rosana, have concluded a five-day visit to Brazil, participating in outreach opportunities on behalf of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and meeting with members and missionaries.
“The people of Brazil are very faithful and they connect with the Savior Jesus Christ easily,” said Elder Soares, a São Paulo native. “It is indeed fantastic to see the blessings the Lord has poured upon these people and upon this country.”

Elder Ulisses Soares, of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, recently concluded a visit to Brazil, meeting with government officials and supporting organizations dedicated to improving lives in the country’s underserved areas.
In Curitiba, on November 17, 2025, Elder Soares met with leaders of the Paraná state government. He emphasized the importance of strong families and the Church’s commitment to promoting peace through Jesus Christ.He also extended an invitation for them to attend the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square’s performance in Brazil in February 2026.Following the meeting, he was invited to offer a prayer, an experience he described as “deeply moving,” and indicative of the leaders’ respect for the Church and its values. He expressed his hope that the governor would receive inspiration to further support the people of the state.
“Our purpose is to reach out to the people, and to help and support them in their dealings with those who are suffering,” said Elder Soares.
While in São Paulo on November 18, Elder Soares visited Amigos do Bem, a nonprofit organization working to transform lives in the backlands of Brazil. He announced a financial donation from the Church to support their efforts and praised the organization’s president, Alcione Albanesi, saying, “Keep doing good [and] radiating the light of God in the lives of everyone. This is what the world needs. If we had more people like you in the world, we would have more peace, more unity, more joy.”
Apostle Visits Brazil, Emphasizes Hope and Service
SÃO PAULO, BRAZIL – Elder Ulisses Soares of the Quorum of the Twelve apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints recently visited Brazil, sharing messages of hope, faith, and the importance of serving others. His visit included meetings with Church members and leaders, as well as a tour of the headquarters of Amigos do Bem, a Brazilian non-profit organization.
during his tour of Amigos do Bem on November 19, 2025, Elder Soares was accompanied by Elder Mark D. Eddy of the Brazil Area Presidency and his wife, Annette. He met with the organization’s president, Regina Albanesi, and learned about their work providing aid and opportunities to those in need.
Commenting on why her organization does what it does, Albanesi said, “We must look around us and be instruments for good. This is the legacy Jesus left. We are not just living and occupying the space God granted us on the earth, but rather we need to show fraternity [and] solidarity and help those who do not have the same blessings we have.”
Inviting Others to Feel the Savior’s Love
While meeting with members of the Church in Porto Alegre, Elder Soares shared, “The Lord will do everything in His power to bring us back to the path.He will never tire of searching for us. He will always continue seeking us.”
This message resonated deeply with Bruno Luz, a member of the congregation. “I felt like [his message] was directed towards me and only me. It was so special to hear the words of an apostle directed so precisely to my doubts and my questions,” Luz said.
