Italian singer Emma Marrone recently opened up about her past relationship with television personality Stefano De Martino during an appearance on Victoria Cabello’s podcast, Out of Cabello. Marrone described De Martino as her “high school boyfriend,” recalling a time when both of their careers were rapidly gaining momentum.
“We were together during a period when our lives were exploding,” Marrone shared. She fondly remembered their connection, stating, “I had a beautiful relationship with stefano; he was the boyfriend who made me laugh the most of all.”
Despite the positive memories, the relationship ended under difficult circumstances. Marrone acknowledged the tumultuous breakup, noting, “It ended in a turbulent way, but there were the spotlight on and other people involved. It’s not the first story that ends in heartbreak,but we were twenty years old.”
The singer revealed the significant impact the public scrutiny surrounding their split had on her career. “I was on the covers of all the newspapers. This slowed down my career by at least five or six years,” she explained. Marrone emphasized the long process of rebuilding her credibility, adding, “it took me years too get out of that stuff and become credible.”
