Sixteen Years in the Making

American singer-songwriter Eric Hutchinson is returning to Australia this November for a three-date headline tour, ending a 16-year absence from the country. Promoted by Teamwrk Touring and MRG Live, the run marks his first-ever headline run in the country.

The East Coast Itinerary

Hutchinson will perform three shows along the East Coast:

The East Coast Itinerary
  • Nov. 19: Lefty’s Music Hall, Brisbane
  • Nov. 20: Northcote Social Club, Melbourne
  • Nov. 21: The Lansdowne, Sydney

The singer, who resides in New York City, stated that the decision to return follows years of fan requests. He noted that the distance had been a primary factor in his long absence, but said the timing has finally aligned for a return to the region.

From Television Sync to Platinum Records

Hutchinson’s Australian profile was cemented by a sync. His track “Rock & Roll” gained traction after being featured on the television drama Packed to the Rafters. The exposure propelled the song to No. 1 on the Australian charts in 2009, eventually securing platinum certification.

Hutchinson first toured the country supporting Jason Mraz and Kelly Clarkson in 2008 and 2009, but never returned for his own run.

Showcasing Repeating Myself

This tour supports his 2026 album, Repeating Myself, billed as a return to the piano-driven pop and soul of that breakthrough. Fans can expect a setlist blending this new material with established catalog hits, including “Rock & Roll,” “OK, It’s Alright With Me,” and “A Little More.” Marshall Hamburger, who won the tenth season of Australian Idol in 2025, will open for Hutchinson on tour.

Consistency in a Shifting Industry

Hutchinson’s career has remained steady. His debut, Sounds Like This, gained initial U.S. momentum via early digital platforms like the iTunes Store and an endorsement from blogger Perez Hilton. Since then, he has built a touring-driven following well beyond the radio years.
