Eric Roberts Named Ambassador for AsIAm’s 2026 Same Chance Walk for Autism
Presenter Eric Roberts, known for his recent appearance on Dancing with the Stars, has been appointed as the official ambassador for AsIAm’s 2026 Same Chance Walk for Autism. The walk, a key event during World Autism Month, aims to raise over €200,000 to support AsIAm’s advocacy, services, and supports for autistic individuals and their families across Ireland.
Personal Connection Drives Advocacy
Roberts’ commitment to the cause stems from a deeply personal connection – his nephew, Oisín, is autistic. He shared that seeing the world through Oisín’s eyes has profoundly shaped his understanding of inclusion and acceptance. Roberts, a former Special Needs Assistant (SNA), regularly uses his platform to promote greater understanding of autism.
Walk Details and Participation
The 2026 Same Chance Walk will seize place on Sunday, April 12th. Flagship walks will be held at Belmont Demesne, Greystones, Co. Wicklow, and Kylemore Abbey, Co. Galway. AsIAm is also encouraging communities across Ireland to organize their own walks throughout April, fostering a nationwide movement for autism inclusion.
