Ethiopia Engages in BRICS Cooperation Discussions

Addis Ababa, December 13, 2025-Ethiopia participated in the 4th Meeting of BRICS Sherpas and Sous Sherpas for 2025, held in Brasília, Brazil. The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation among BRICS members and partner countries.

Delegates reviewed BRICS activities undertaken in 2025, based on a handover report from the Brazilian presidency.

Discussions centered on six priority areas: cooperation with the Global South, global health, climate change, trade, investment and finance, and the governance of artificial intelligence.

BRICS nations are actively working to expand their influence and address shared challenges through collaborative efforts. Ethiopia’s participation underscores its commitment to these goals.
