Sam Levinson has given updates on what is in store for characters in teh third season of popular drama Euphoria, which is expected to begin filming in 2025.

The HBO show, starring Zendaya, has captivated audiences with its raw depiction of teenage life, addiction, and identity.

Speaking at a For Your Consideration event, Levinson revealed plot details for several key characters. Rue Bennett,played by Zendaya,will be facing new challenges as she navigates sobriety and a relationship.

“she’s been clean for a year, and she’s trying to figure out what that means,” Levinson said. “She’s trying to build a life for herself, and she’s starting to realize that that’s not as easy as she thought it would be.”

Lexi Howard, portrayed by Maude Apatow, will be exploring her newfound confidence and voice after her controversial play in season two.

“Lexi is going to be stepping into her own,” Levinson explained. “She’s going to be taking more risks, and she’s going to be challenging herself in ways that she never has before.”

Fezco, played by Angus Cloud, who tragically passed away in July 2023, was also discussed. Levinson confirmed that the character’s storyline will be honoured in the upcoming season.

“Fezco was a really vital part of the show, and we wanted to make sure that we gave him a proper send-off,” Levinson said.”We’re going to be exploring his backstory and his relationships with the other characters.”

Other characters, such as Jules Vaughn (Hunter Schafer) and Maddy Perez (Alexa Demie), will also be undergoing significant developments, with Levinson hinting at unexpected twists and turns.

While a specific release date has not yet been announced, fans are eagerly anticipating the return of Euphoria and the continuation of its compelling narrative.

## Euphoria Season 3: What we certainly know About the Highly Anticipated Return

zendaya will reprise her role as Rue in *Euphoria* Season 3, and according to creator Sam Levinson, her storyline will take a dramatic turn. Levinson revealed Rue is currently “south of the [US] border in Mexico, in debt to Laurie (played by Martha Kelly), trying to come up with some very innovative ways to pay it off.”

The new season will also explore the evolving relationships of other key characters. Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) and Nate (Jacob Elordi) are engaged and living in the suburbs, but Cassie is struggling with social media envy, observing what appears to be the prosperous lives of her former classmates. Levinson promises thier wedding will be “unforgettable.”

Hunter Schafer’s Jules will be pursuing her artistic ambitions in art school,aiming to establish herself as a painter. Simultaneously occurring, Alexa Demie’s Maddy is navigating the competitive world of Hollywood, working at a talent agency. Maude Apatow’s Lexi will be gaining experience as an assistant to a showrunner, played by Sharon Stone.

Despite the critical reception of his recent HBO series, *The Idol* – which received some of the worst reviews of 2023 and was afterward cancelled after one series – Levinson is confident in the upcoming season of *Euphoria*. He stated, “I feel strongly this is our best season yet.”
