Europe Stocks Fall Amid AI Fears, Piazza Affari Suffers Collapse

(Teleborsa) – The main stock exchanges of the Old Continent continue to be mixedwhile sales fall on Piazza Affari, where the decline in the banking sector and managed savings weighs heavily on fears of ‘disruptive’ AI.

The sales in the sector followed those that were unleashed yesterday in the American market on the securities of companies offering financial services following the news that Altruistica US startup specializing in asset management, has launched AI-powered tax planning capabilities. Altruist said the Hazel platform automates tax planning in minutes, reducing the dependence of consultants from the support oftraditional brokerage.

In Milan the effects are being felt throughout the world managed savingswith the thrust of Finecowhich leaves 9% on the ground, followed by Mediolanum Bank (-6,9%) e Azimuth (-4,6%).

Meanwhile, the quarterly reporting season continues, with the accounts of Banca Generali and Banca Ifis.

On the macro front, in December Italian industrial production slowed downbut the quarter-on-quarter and year-on-year changes remain positive, if adjusted for calendar effects. This is what emerges from the latest Istat report, according to which the seasonally adjusted index of industrial production decreased by 0.4% compared to November.

This afternoon, investors’ focus will be on US January job reportarriving in the early afternoon, data that the Fed takes into great consideration when evaluating monetary policy moves. The unemployment rate is expected to remain stable at 4.4%, while i Nonfarm Payrolls expected to increase from 50 to 70 thousand units.

Substantially stable theeuro / US dollarwhich continues the session at the levels of the day before and stops at 1.191. Euphoric session fororowhich shows a jump of 1.55%. Strong earnings day for oil (Light Sweet Crude Oil), up 1.60%.

Consolidates the levels of the day before spreadsettling at +60 basis points, with the yield on the 10-year BTP standing at 3.41%.

Among the markets of the Old Continent flat Frankfurtwhich holds parity, in light Londonwith a large progress of 0.72%, and without any improvements Pariswhich does not show significant changes in prices.

Minus sign for the Milanese price list, in a session characterized by large sales, with the FTSE MIB which shows a decrease of 0.72%; on the same line, it moves in reverse FTSE Italia All-Sharewhich slips to 49,256 points.

In red the FTSE Italia Mid Cap (-1.15%); as well, downhill the FTSE Italia Star (-1,26%).

Among them best Italian shares large capitalization, positive trend for Italgaswhich advances by a discreet +2.21%. Well bought Telecom Italiawhich marks a strong increase of 2.18%. Ferrari advances by 2.09%. It is moving into positive territory Herashowing an increase of 1.72%.

The worst performances, however, are recorded on Finecowhich gets -7.82%. Heavy Mediolanum Bankwhich marks a decrease of -6.51 percentage points. Negative session for Azimuthwhich drops by 4.33%. MPS Banking drops by 3.61%.

Between the best stocks in the FTSE MidCap, Daniel (+2,42%), Alerion Clean Power (+1,79%), That (+1,54%) e Technoprobe (+1,23%).

The steepest declines, however, occur at Generali Bankwhich continues the session with -6.90%. Significant losses for BFF Bankdown 6.53%. Decline decided for Ifis Bankwhich marks -4.08%. In apnea Moltiply Groupwhich fell by 4.08%.
