Ex-Harvard Physicist Claims Heaven’s Location Beyond Reason

Bisnis.com, JAKARTA — Former University physics professor HarvardDr. Michael Guillen, sparked a new discourse in circles academy with the claim that cosmological laws can point to specific locations”Heaven“.

Guillen places the location at an almost unimaginable distance, namely 273 billion trillion miles from Earth. He argued that widely accepted astronomical principles could be interpreted in harmony with ancient religious descriptions of realms beyond time and space.

Quoted from the Daily Star report, Wednesday (11/2/2026), Guillen’s argument is based on the basic concept of modern cosmology, namely the expansion of the universe.

Based on observations by astronomer Edwin Hubble, galaxies are moving away from Earth, with objects that are more distant moving at higher speeds.

“Theoretically, a galaxy 273 billion trillion miles from Earth would be moving at 186,000 miles per second, which is the speed of light,” explained Guillen.

This distance is in line with what astronomers usually call the Cosmic Horizon, the outer limit of the observable universe. Beyond this point, light from the galaxy has not had enough time to reach Earth.

Guillen also highlights that this horizon marks a fundamental shift in the nature of reality itself. He referred to astronomical observations and Albert Einstein’s theory of general and special relativity which indicated that time stopped at the Cosmic Horizon.

“At that special distance, far away in the depths of outer space, there is no past, present, or future. There is only timelessness [timelessness],” said Guillen.

According to Guillen, this timeless state reflects the descriptions of Heaven found in Biblical texts. He argued that scriptures outline several levels of Heaven, each of which corresponds to a different realm of existence.

Guillen explained that the lowest level is the Earth’s atmosphere, the middle level is outer space, and the highest level is the location where God resides.

He believed that anything beyond the Cosmic Horizon had extraordinary properties beyond the reach of human understanding of space and time.

“As a scientist, I understand the importance of definitions,” he added.

In contrast, the majority of astronomers view the Cosmic Horizon as a purely practical boundary of observation, not a physical or spiritual barrier. These boundaries define what can be measured and studied, not the edges of existence itself.

Scientifically, this horizon represents the furthest distance that light has had time to reach Earth since the universe began about 13.8 billion years ago. The oldest light that can be observed today is the cosmic microwave background (Cosmic Microwave Background).

This radiation formed when the early universe was cool enough for light to travel freely, leaving behind signals that still pervade the cosmos today. Its discovery in 1965 became one of the strongest pieces of evidence for the Big Bang theory.
