Former LE SSERAFIM member Kim Ga-ram has signed an exclusive contract with Management G to launch her career as an actress, following her departure from the K-pop girl group in 2022 amid a school violence controversy. The management agency announced the signing on February 16, stating that they plan to provide full support for her transition into the acting sector.

Management G formalized the agreement after tracking Kim’s activities and noting her potential. According to the agency, representatives were deeply impressed by her growth potential as an actor and her diligent attitude. The agency stated that Kim’s daily efforts and progress toward achieving her dream became key factors in deciding to sign an exclusive contract.
“Kim Ga-ram has been continuing consistent training and research to improve her acting skills, showing noticeable growth in a short period,” Management G stated according to StarNews. The agency added that beyond acting, the 21-year-old is investing time in learning English and Japanese, and is self-teaching guitar playing.

Shortly after the group’s debut, online controversies arose regarding past school interactions. It was subsequently revealed that a School Violence Countermeasures Committee had convened regarding Kim, resulting in the issuance of a Level 5 penalty.
Amid mounting public scrutiny, Kim suspended her entertainment activities. At the time, the agency issued a public apology to fans for the disruption caused by the controversy.

Ahead of her official acting debut, Management G unveiled a new series of profile photographs showcasing a changed atmosphere and mature styling. The agency noted that Kim dedicates most of her time to self-development and preparation.
