Joseph worked as an IT contractor for MI5 from September 2009 until October 30, 2020 . He held the highest level of security clearance, known as “Developed Vetting,” granting him access to highly classified information . His contract was terminated after he began exhibiting signs of mental health problems in 2020 .
Claims of Mistreatment and Training
During police interviews, Joseph claimed he was a “whistleblower” and maintained he had not acted maliciously . He also alleged he underwent “ninja-style” training at MI5 headquarters, Thames House, involving swords and knives . He further claimed to have been the victim of racial abuse and a needle attack while employed by MI5, resulting in a heart condition .
