Columbus Division of Police homicide detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of a man late Monday night at the Amberly Square Apartments. Officers discovered the victim with a gunshot wound after responding to the complex on the 2500 block of Brandy Drive on the city’s East Side.

Patrol officers were dispatched to the apartment complex at approximately 11:30 p.m. Monday following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they located an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Despite the efforts of first responders, the man was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics from the Columbus Division of Fire.

As of Tuesday morning, the identity of the victim has not been released. The Columbus Division of Police has not disclosed whether the victim was a resident of the Amberly Square complex or if he was visiting the property at the time of the incident.
