“What I would do for you to just come home. Hopefully a text soon. Love you mam,” Jayden Mullane wrote in a Facebook post on Tuesday, three weeks after his mother vanished in Enniskillen, County Fermanagh, Ireland Live reported.
A 35-year-old man has been charged with the murder of Carrie Mullane (Noonan), 39, and with preventing the lawful burial of a corpse, and is due to appear via video link before Dungannon Magistrates’ Court on 7 November, the BBC reported.
Carrie Mullane was last seen by taxi in Enniskillen on 10 October
Ms Mullane, from Moyross, Limerick, travelled to Enniskillen from Limerick on Saturday 10 October 2026 with a man known to her, and has not been seen since, rte.ie reported. The last confirmed sighting was when she took a taxi from Enniskillen bus station on Wellington Road to Trasna Park at around 9pm that night; from that point her movements are unknown, according to Detective Superintendent Richard Thornton of the PSNI Serious Crime Branch. Concern for her welfare was reported to the PSNI by An Garda Síochána on 29 October, The Journal reported.
Police believe she came to harm shortly after arriving and charge a man
The PSNI believes it is “very likely” that Ms Mullane came to harm shortly after her arrival in Northern Ireland, rte.ie reported. On Friday, police carried out searches in County Fermanagh, including Lough Erne, and recovered a small boat and a camper van for examination, the BBC reported. The 35-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder remains in custody assisting with enquiries, PSNI Fermanagh and Omagh District Commander Superintendent Pete Cunningham said in a statement on Wednesday, according to Ireland Live.

PSNI appeals for sightings of a boat and campervan on Lough Erne
The PSNI has released images of a boat and a campervan it believes are linked to Ms Mullane’s disappearance and suspected murder, saying establishing their movements “could yield vital evidence in the search for Carrie,” Thornton said, The Journal reported. He appealed for anyone who sighted either vehicle between the late hours of 10 October and 1 November, or captured dashcam, doorbell or other footage, to come forward, with a particular appeal to boat owners on Upper Lough Erne. “Any piece of information, no matter how small or insignificant you may think it to be, could prove key in bringing Carrie home and providing answers for her loved ones,” he said.
Family holds vigil as son posts emotional appeal
A vigil for Ms Mullane was held on Tuesday night, 3 November, which Jayden Mullane thanked attendees for in a Facebook post, Ireland Live reported. Thornton described Carrie as “a much-loved mother, sister and friend” who is “greatly missed by everyone who knows and loves her.” Cunningham said the PSNI has a Major Investigation Team based in Enniskillen and is “putting every resource into bringing answers to Carrie’s family, and in particular, to her children,” while asking the public to refrain from online speculation as enquiries continue.
