Ferriday Trojans Secure Victory Over Delhi Charter in Hard-Fought Contest
FERRIDAY, LA – The Ferriday Trojans demonstrated resilience and determination, securing a 56-43 victory over the Delhi Charter Trojans in a challenging road game on Wednesday evening. The win boosts Ferriday’s overall record to an extraordinary 23-2 and maintains their undefeated 2-0 record within district play.
Despite a grueling schedule – their fourth road game in six days – the Trojans battled through fatigue to overcome a strong Delhi Charter team, who entered the game with a 17-4 record.
The game was closely contested in the early stages, with Ferriday taking a narrow 11-10 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Trojans then surged ahead in the second quarter, outscoring Delhi Charter 13-5 to establish a 24-15 halftime advantage.
Delhi Charter mounted a comeback in the third quarter, narrowing the gap to six points with a 17-14 scoring run. However, Ferriday responded effectively in the fourth quarter, matching Delhi Charter’s effort with a 15-14 performance to secure the win.
Michael Kelly contributed eight points to the Trojans’ offensive effort, while jammion Woods added three points. the team’s overall performance highlighted their ability to persevere under pressure and maintain composure in a competitive environment.
The Ferriday Trojans will continue their district schedule with an away game against Oak Grove High School. The varsity game is scheduled to tip-off at 7:30 p.m., following the varsity girls’ game at 6:00 p.m.
