Final Porta Headphones Weigh 40 Grams and Draw on Walkman Design
Japanese audio manufacturer Final has unveiled the Porta, a pair of wireless on-ear headphones weighing just 40 grams. Feber reported that the ultra-light design relies on a main headband constructed from a single, structural wire frame. This minimalist chassis makes standard 200-gram alternatives feel heavy by comparison, drawing clear aesthetic inspiration from the classic headphones bundled with vintage Sony Walkman players.
Bluetooth 5.4 Powers Eight Hours of Battery Life
Despite the stripped-back weight, the Porta features Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity with support for both the SBC and AAC audio codecs, according to Nördigt.se. A built-in 57mAh battery delivers up to eight hours of playback time per charge. The device requires roughly 1.5 hours to recharge completely using the included USB-C cable, as reported by Nördigt.se. The headphones lack active noise cancellation due to their open, on-ear architecture, but they carry an IPX4 water-resistance rating to withstand light rain and sweat.
Japan Launch Scheduled for October
Final has priced the Porta at 12,800 yen, which translates to approximately $80 or 800 kronor. Pre-orders are currently open through the manufacturer’s online store, with official shipping set to begin on October 23, 2026, in Japan, according to splashthenews.com and Nördigt.se. Buyers can select either black or orange ear pads, which are fully interchangeable. Nördigt.se reported that Final plans to release separate replacement ear pads for purchase in 2027. International availability remains limited to the Japanese web portal, as the headphones have not yet appeared on regional storefronts like Amazon in the United States.
