The presenter expressed gratitude to the medical staff involved in her care, writing on Instagram that she unexpectedly moved into the National Maternity Hospital on a Monday near her due date, after experiencing a low-risk pregnancy for the majority of the term. She specifically thanked the team at Domino Midwives and the National Maternity Hospital for their professionalism and care during the escalation of her care.
The newborn’s traditional Irish name carries distinct cultural meanings. Ríona translates to ‘queenly’ or ‘royal,’ while Anu references an Irish goddess linked to the Old Irish word for wealth and abundance. The couple previously married at Rathsallagh Country House in 2025 and initially announced their pregnancy in March by sharing photographs from Lead Mines Way in Carrickgollogan, the location of their first date.
