Though, the real solution is often a simple, no-cost fix: optimizing your router’s placement. Your router’s location dictates your network ceiling more than the brand or price tag.

The Physics of Wi-Fi: Location, Location, Location

It’s straightforward to treat your router like an appliance to be hidden away, but it’s actually a high-frequency radio broadcaster. Rather than constantly upgrading your hardware, focus on optimizing the physical environment. Wi-Fi 7 offers more bandwidth than ever before, but the 6GHz frequency is particularly fragile and easily disrupted by obstacles like thick bookshelves or mirrors.
