Foo Fighters to Release 12th Album, ‘Your Favorite Toy,’ in April
Foo Fighters are gearing up for the release of their 12th studio album, Your Favorite Toy, on April 24, 2026, through Roswell/RCA. The announcement comes alongside the release of the album’s title track, available now, and precedes a summer stadium tour.
“Your Favorite Toy” Unlocks a New Sound
Frontman Dave Grohl described “Your Favorite Toy” as the catalyst for the album’s overall sound. “‘Your Favorite Toy’ really was the key that unlocked the tone and energetic direction of the new album,” Grohl said in a statement. “We stumbled upon it after experimenting with different sounds and dynamics for over a year, and the day it took shape I knew that we had to follow its lead. It was the fuse to the powder keg of songs we wound up recording for this record. It feels new.”
Album Details and Production
The 10-track album, a follow-up to 2023’s But Here We Are, was co-produced by the band and Oliver Roman, who previously worked with The Cribs and Wolfmother. Roman highlighted the collaborative effort and energy of the recording process, praising the vocal performance, Ilan Rubin’s drumming, and contributions from other band members like Chris Shiflett, Pat Smear, Nate Mendel, and Rami Jaffee. Billboard reports the album represents a return to the band’s punk roots.
Tour Dates and Performances
The Foo Fighters will be performing at Welcome to Rockville in Daytona Beach, Florida on May 8 and BottleRock in Napa, California on May 23. A full tour kicks off on June 10 in Oslo, Norway. A North American stadium leg begins August 4 in Toronto, Canada, with Australian dates scheduled for November and a visit to New Zealand in January 2027.
The band also has a special performance planned for August 22 at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, where they will perform with the LA Philharmonic, blending their hits with orchestral arrangements.
