Dwight Yorke Departs as Trinidad and Tobago Head Coach

Dwight Yorke has left his position as head coach of the Trinidad and Tobago Men’s Senior National Team, the Trinidad and Tobago Football Association (TTFA) confirmed on March 5, 2026. The departure comes after the Soca Warriors failed to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Contract Negotiations and Mutual Agreement

The TTFA stated that Yorke’s contract, which was due to expire in June 2026, was terminated by mutual agreement with immediate effect. Following a comprehensive review of the World Cup qualification campaign and the overall direction of the national team program, discussions were held regarding revised contractual terms and remuneration aligned with the next phase of the program. However, both parties were unable to reach an agreement on these terms, leading to the decision to part ways.

The TTFA emphasized that the association maintains a professional and respectful relationship with Yorke and left the door open for future dialogue. They also thanked him for his service and contribution to the Men’s Senior National Team.

Yorke’s Statement

In a separate statement, Yorke expressed his intention to continue in the role but acknowledged circumstances beyond his control made that impossible.
