Man Found Dead in Northern Norway – Police Investigating
A man was found dead in a wooded area near Fauske in Nordland county on Sunday afternoon.
Police were notified about the discovery at approximately 3:30 PM. The identity of the deceased is currently unknown.
“We are working to identify the person and investigate the circumstances surrounding the death,” says Police Inspector Per Åge Hansen to VG.
The area has been cordoned off for forensic investigation. Police are not currently treating the death as suspicious, but are keeping all possibilities open.
“it is too early to say anything definitive about the cause of death,” hansen adds.
The body has been sent for autopsy.

Traffic Disrupted on E6 Near Notevann Following Two Incidents
Traffic on the E6 highway near Notevann, Norway, experienced meaningful disruption on December 27, 2023, due to two separate incidents occurring within a short timeframe. The first, a vehicle accident, took place at approximately a quarter to one in the Sagpollen area.
Roughly half an hour later, a trailer overturned on the same stretch of road, close to the location of the initial accident. Fortunately, the trailer driver sustained no injuries. However, the overturned vehicle completely blocked the E6, leading to several hours of traffic congestion.
“there was reduced access after the first accident, but now the trailer has brought traffic on the E6 to a standstill,” stated operations manager, henriksen, following the second incident.
Motorists in the area reported challenging driving conditions, characterized by fluctuating precipitation including snow, rain, and sleet. Thes conditions likely contributed to the accidents.
