Fozzy Group is cutting staff across its corporate offices, Silpo supermarket chain, and logistics division as ongoing wartime destruction severely impacts its operational infrastructure. The reductions, which take effect November 1, follow a series of targeted attacks that destroyed or damaged more than 20 company facilities between August 1 and September 25.
Corporate Restructuring Hits Fozzy Group Operations
The Ukrainian retail holding announced the organizational changes during internal corporate meetings. According to Fozzy Group statements, the cuts impact office teams, the Silpo grocery chain, and supply chain personnel. Similar structural adjustments previously occurred within MAUDAU, the TemaBit Fozzy Group IT unit, and the E-commerce and Ecosystem divisions.
Direct Impact of Military Strikes on Supply Chains
Company representatives stated that these workforce reductions are a direct result of ongoing Russian military strikes that hit distribution centers, retail locations, and production plants. These infrastructure losses have made maintaining standard supply chains significantly more expensive and difficult, forcing corporate leadership to reallocate resources.
Broader Crisis Across Ukraine’s Retail Sector
Taras Vysotsky, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, previously reported that Russian attacks have destroyed roughly 90% of modern goods storage facilities nationwide.
Ruslan Shostak, founder and co-owner of the Varus grocery chain, noted that at the current frequency of military strikes, it could take decades for Russia to destroy 90% of Ukrainian warehouses, assuming they are not restored in Ukraine.
Frontline Store Openings and Active Hiring
Despite corporate downsizing at the administrative level, Fozzy Group maintains that core retail operations remain active. The company is continuing to open new stores, rebuild damaged properties, and restructure its supply networks. To support these operational needs, management is actively hiring workers for supermarkets, warehouses, and production facilities throughout Ukraine.
