Franz Wagner Enters NBA Season With Growth Expected by Germany Staff
Franz Wagner enters the upcoming NBA season facing elevated expectations after assistant coach Alan Ibrahimagic predicted the Orlando Magic forward has not yet reached his peak. Ibrahimagic, who works with the German national team, stated in an interview with RedaktionsNetzwerk Deutschland that the 25-year-old player will continue improving across every facet of his game through added experience. He added that people quickly forget the player is still approaching his best years because he has been involved for so long, noting that we definitely have not seen the best Franz Wagner yet
and that he will get even better because he is smart and knows what he needs to work on.
The 48-year-old coach, who previously worked with Wagner in the youth ranks at Alba Berlin and within the German Basketball Federation team, believes the forward can improve in every area as his necessary experience increases year by year. Ibrahimagic highlighted that the player is very versatile, stating that his shot is already very solid but can and will become even better, though that is not something Franz focuses on too heavily because he simply wants to improve his entire game. Wagner opens his campaign when Orlando plays the Atlanta Hawks on Thursday at 1:00 AM.
Orlando Magic Schedule and Roster Shifts
The Orlando Magic tip off the regular season against the Atlanta Hawks, marking the start of a new campaign for a roster that exited the first round of the playoffs in each of the last three seasons. Franz Wagner muss 2026/27 erstmals ohne seinen Bruder Moritz auskommen. Moritz Wagner wechselte im Sommer zu den Brooklyn Nets, während Franz eine von Verletzungen geprägte vorige Saison hinter sich hat.
Brooklyn Nets Debut for Moritz Wagner
Moritz Wagner begins his tenure with the Brooklyn Nets as the team opens its season against the Charlotte Hornets. Ibrahimagic described the 29-year-old as a perfect teammate capable of elevating a young squad through established veteran experience and persistent energy in both games and practices, noting that he has been in the league for a few years longer and strengthens every team anyway with his energy, in every game and in every practice.
