Free Medical Check-up Program Expands Across Tam Ky Region

A medical outreach program in Tam My commune delivered free examinations to approximately 4,500 residents. The initiative, held from July 4 to July 10, focused resources on the region’s most vulnerable, including the elderly, low-income households, children under age 6, and individuals with disabilities.

Comprehensive Diagnostic Assessments

The screening process aims to identify underlying health conditions before they escalate. Participants receive standard fitness checks, including pulse, blood pressure, and body mass index (BMI) measurements.

The program goes beyond basic vitals by deploying specialists in internal medicine, surgery, dentistry, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, pediatrics, and obstetrics. Diagnostic capabilities are equally robust, encompassing blood work, urinalysis, and chest X-rays. Physicians use these results to offer immediate medical advice, start treatments, or refer patients to specialized medical centers for advanced care.

Targeting Marginalized Populations

Priority access was granted to those who have performed meritorious services to the nation and residents of ethnic minority areas. The program further prioritized three core groups:

  • Low-income households: Families living in poverty or with limited financial resources.
  • Children: Specifically those under 6 years old who are not currently enrolled in educational institutions.
  • Vulnerable populations: Individuals with physical disabilities and the elderly.

Digitizing Patient Health Records

A primary objective of the outreach is the modernization of medical data. Medical teams input results directly into electronic medical records and physical health booklets.
