According to the Korea National Oil Corporation’s Opinet system, average pump prices for gasoline and diesel across Daejeon, Sejong, and South Chungcheong Province reached the 1,800-won range as of the second week of November 2024.

Regional Fuel Price Trends

As of the second week of November, average gasoline prices were reported at 1,866.5 won per liter in Daejeon, 1,886 won in Sejong, and 1,901 won in South Chungcheong Province.

Diesel prices followed a similar trajectory. The Korea National Oil Corporation recorded average diesel costs at 1,854.8 won per liter in Daejeon, 1,872.3 won in Sejong, and 1,884.9 won in South Chungcheong Province. These figures represent a sustained cooling in retail energy costs, which have been falling steadily for two months.

Impact of Government Policy and Global Markets

This domestic policy is supported by fluctuations in the global crude oil market. International oil prices have remained relatively stable compared to previous quarters, preventing the sharp spikes that previously pushed domestic prices higher.
