Speeding on New Year’s Eve Leads too License Suspensions in Bordeaux

Three drivers rushing to their New Year’s Eve celebrations were stopped this wednesday on the Pont d’Aquitaine in Bordeaux for excessive speeding – 50km/h over the limit. This level of speeding is now considered a criminal offense.

Consequently, all three drivers will be walking to their New Year’s Eve parties. Their driver’s licenses were suspended on Wednesday morning during a traffic stop conducted by the CRS Autoroutière Aquitaine on the bridge. The officers caught the drivers speeding well above the 70km/h speed limit, with each exceeding it by more than 50km/h.
