Latvian Music Award “Golden Microphone” Celebrates 30th Anniversary in Ventspils

Ventspils, Latvia, is set to host the 30th anniversary ceremony of the Latvian Music Recording Award “Golden Microphone” on February 28, 2026, at the Olympic Centre “Ventspils”. The event will honor three decades of Latvian music and recognize outstanding achievements in the industry.

A Celebration of Latvian Music

The “Golden Microphone” award is the highest national recognition for musicians in Latvia. This year’s ceremony promises a spectacular event, featuring performances by prominent Latvian artists, including DAGAMBA, Musiqq, Ivo Fomins, Fiņķis, Carnival Youth, Normunds Rutulis, the Ventspils Big Band and many others Kurzeme.lv. The ceremony will be hosted by Sanda Dejus, Madara Kivkucāne, and Beta Beidz.

Record Number of Submissions

This year saw a record 315 submissions across 20 nominations, including 140 albums, 57 songs, 74 video clips, 38 debut albums, and six concert recordings in video format Visit Ventspils. Musicians, authors, and producers were able to submit their work for evaluation until midnight on December 1, 2025.

Impressive Stage and Performances

The anniversary ceremony will take place on a 32-meter stage, designed to accommodate impressive shows and performances Kurzeme.lv. Ivo Fomins premiered his new song “Cilvēks” at the ceremony, with lyrics co-written by Guntars Račs Muzikaspasaule.lv.

Additional Events on February 28th

As well on February 28th, the brass band “Ugāle” will celebrate its 55th anniversary with a concert titled “My Path in the Brass Band “Ugāle”” at the Ugāle Community Center “Gaisma” Visit Ventspils. The concert will feature favorite movie melodies.
