Google has officially launched Gemini Live voice features across its core productivity suite, bringing conversational AI capabilities to Gmail, Google Docs, and Google Keep. According to a September 3, 2026 announcement on the official Google Workspace blog, the tools let users manage tasks, draft documents, and search inboxes using natural-language voice commands.
Gmail Live Conversational Search and Interruption Handling
Gmail Live replaces traditional inbox searches with a conversational voice interface, allowing users to ask complex, multi-part questions rather than hunting for keywords.
The feature supports seamless follow-up questions without requiring users to repeat contextual details. Furthermore, Gmail Live allows interruptions mid-stream, letting users switch topics instantly without starting a new session. A fullscreen interface displays an active transcript alongside direct links to the source emails utilized by the model.
Docs Live and Keep Live Thought Partnerships
Google Docs now features Docs Live, a hands-on co-writer designed to turn rough spoken ideas into structured summaries and project proposals.
For rapid capture, Google Keep introduces Keep Live, which processes unstructured audio brain dumps into organized lists and notes. The tool interprets a user’s stream of consciousness and displays an inline preview within seconds. Keep Live integrates directly with existing entries, automatically appending new items—such as adding a forgotten grocery item to a pre-existing list.
Subscription Tiers and Platform Availability
Access to these new voice features varies across application tiers and operating systems. According to official release details, availability breaks down as follows:
- Gmail Live: Available on Android and iOS for Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscribers.
- Docs Live: Restricted to Pro and Ultra plan subscribers on supported mobile platforms.
- Keep Live: Currently deployed as an Android-only feature for Pro and Ultra subscribers.
Google confirmed that business customers utilizing Workspace accounts will receive access to the suite shortly. The rollout stems from core AI models previewed earlier at Google I/O in May and builds on the August release of Gemini 3.5 Transcribe.
