Flo Health has entered a multi-year partnership with Google Health, incorporating a strategic investment from the tech giant to integrate women’s health data with wearable fitness tracking. The collaboration aims to merge Flo’s cycle-tracking algorithms with Google’s wearable hardware and coaching tools, according to a company announcement reported by PR Newswire.

Co-Branded Products and Executive Perspectives

“By teaming up with Flo, together with our personalized coaching, research expertise, and 24/7 tracking, we can help women understand their health in entirely new ways,” said Rishi Chandra, GM of Google Health. Dmitry Gurski, co-founder and CEO of Flo Health, added: is about to change what is possible in women’s health – but only if it’s built with women in mind, not adapted for them afterward.

Integration of Wearable Data and Cycle Tracking

Starting in early 2027, users who choose to opt in will be able to sync their Flo app data with Google Health. This integration will feed Fitbit signals—including sleep, heart rate, heart rate variability, skin temperature, and respiratory rate—into the Flo platform to refine cycle predictions and symptom tracking. Conversely, insights from Flo will be integrated into the Google Health Coach, allowing for personalized guidance that accounts for a user’s current cycle phase.

Flo Health reports that its app has been downloaded 500 million times and currently serves more than 80 million monthly active users. Under the new agreement, Flo will be featured as the premiere women’s health partner within the Google Health app.

Research Priorities for Women’s Health

The partnership includes a joint research program focused on developing artificial intelligence capable of understanding how hormonal fluctuations affect sleep, mood, and energy levels. The companies stated that they intend to use this research to identify early signs of conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), endometriosis, and fibroids, as well as markers for perimenopause.

Data Privacy and Security Standards

The companies have outlined strict protocols regarding user data to address privacy concerns. Flo Health and Google Health confirmed that no data will be shared between the two applications without explicit, per-purpose permission from the user. Users retain the ability to withdraw this consent at any time.

Additionally, the companies stated that any Flo data shared with Google Health will not be used for advertising, sold to third parties, or made available to other developers. Flo Health will remain an independent company throughout this partnership.
