Google Search Live Now Available in the Czech Republic
Google has expanded the availability of its Search Live feature to include the Czech Republic, initially launched in August of last year but previously limited to select countries. Centrum.cz first reported the news on March 18, 2026.
What is Google Search Live?
Search Live is integrated directly into Google Lens, accessible through the Google app or via a widget. The feature allows users to inquire questions using their camera, processing the visual input to provide descriptions and relevant links.
How Does it Function?
Upon activation, the Google Lens interface switches to a new mode where users can simply pose questions. The application analyzes the camera’s view and offers a description, alongside links to related products or information. Users can also instruct the application to respond in Czech, should it initially default to another language.
Similar to Gemini Live, but More Accessible
The functionality is described as a more accessible version of Gemini Live, requiring fewer steps to access. Users can engage in a continuous conversation, asking follow-up questions to refine their search.
Google Lens Capabilities
Google Lens, the foundation for Search Live, offers a range of visual search capabilities, including:
- Search: Identify objects and search for information about them.
- Shopping: Identify similar products to items seen in the real world.
- Translation: Translate text in over 100 languages.
- Homework Help: Access explainers and resources for subjects like math, history, and science.
- Plant and Animal Identification: Identify plants and animals using the camera.
Google Lens is available through the Google app, Google Camera, Google Photos, and Chrome.
