Korean industrial conglomerate Hankook앤Company Group showcased its corporate inclusion strategy on Sept. 18, 2026, highlighting how its in-house standard workplace for disabled workers has evolved into a company-wide cultural asset, according to an official corporate release issued on Sept. 21, 2026.
The presentation, titled “Hankook Donggerami Partners’ Communication Culture and Inclusive Workplace Culture,” was delivered by Kim Soo-hyun, an HR support representative for Hankook Donggerami Partners, during the company’s monthly “Knowledge Sharing Meeting” at the Technooplex headquarters in Pangyo, Gyeonggi Province.
Expansion of Standard Workplace and Essential Services
Established in 2015 to expand employment opportunities for disabled individuals, Hankook Donggerami Partners began operations with a staff of 24 employees. According to the company data presented by Kim Soo-hyun, that workforce has grown to approximately 160 employees spread across 10 distinct business sites. The subsidiary delivers critical support services across five operational domains—general administration, laundry, bakeries, cafes, and car washes—serving major business locations throughout the Hankook앤Company Group.
As the organization and its footprint expanded, management scaled up programs designed to improve day-to-day communication and mutual understanding regarding disabilities among all staff members. The HR department structured these initiatives to bridge gaps between disabled and non-disabled workers across multiple operational environments.
Community Engagement and Resource Circulation Programs
The Pangyo briefing detailed three primary operational pillars focused on regional communities, corporate customers, and internal employees. For regional outreach, the company highlighted the “Crossover Day” held in May 2026. This event expanded traditional sponsorship models into a direct exchange program by inviting disabled badminton players to experience driving demonstrations at the Hankook Technoring facility, while corporate employees participated in wheelchair badminton clinics alongside the athletes.
In addition, the company integrated resource conservation with employment initiatives through the “Green Impact Day” campaign. Group employees donated used clothing, which was subsequently laundered by Hankook Donggerami Partners staff before being delivered to Goodwill Store outlets, where subsidiary employees directly participated in organizing and selling the items.
Internal Communication and Accessibility Training
To foster direct communication among workforce members, the organization runs regular sign language instruction led by fluent employee-instructors. Other internal initiatives include the “ON Court” wheelchair badminton experience and targeted disability awareness training sessions that utilize mobility assistance devices.
“When an experience remains isolated to a single person, it stays a pleasant memory, but when the number of people experiencing it grows, it becomes a culture,” Kim Soo-hyun stated during the presentation, emphasizing the progression from basic job creation to cultural integration. The Knowledge Sharing Meeting program was launched by Hankook앤Company Group in August 2023 as a monthly 30-minute midday forum where employees voluntarily share professional expertise, practical work experiences, and personal hobbies.
