Inside Hannah Bronfman & Brendan Fallis’ Renovated NoHo Triplex

Modern York City couple Hannah Bronfman and Brendan Fallis have transformed a former factory warehouse in the NoHo neighborhood into a family home for themselves and their two children, Preston Miles Thomas Fallis (5) and Claude Peaches Anne Fallis (2).

A Historic Space with Modern Flair

The couple purchased the 3,000-square-foot triplex, built in 1900, from a former rare book curator at The Strand bookstore . Drawn to its good bones and unique layout, they embarked on a gut renovation in February 2020, just before the pandemic, with the goal of creating a calm and inviting space that showcased their collections .

Collaboration with Design Experts

For the renovation, Bronfman and Fallis collaborated with architecture firm This Is Eau, builder One World Builders, furniture and staging expert Orane Abezis and JennAir and Whirlpool for appliances and laundry, respectively .

  • Open Kitchen: Features white cabinets, countertops, and a marble backsplash with burners integrated directly into the countertop for a modern, spacious feel.
  • Dining Room: Large windows, decorative floors, and a floor-length mirror create a warm and inviting atmosphere, enhanced by a skylight.
  • Open Floor Plan: Designed for entertaining, with ample seating and a seamless flow between living and dining areas.
  • Floor-to-Ceiling Shelving: Provides abundant storage and display space for books and decorative accessories.
  • Dramatic Staircase: A winding staircase leads to the upper level, where the primary suite is located.
  • Primary Suite: Overlooks the lower level and features frosted window panels for privacy, decorated in neutral tones for a sense of quiet luxury.
  • Spa-Like Bathroom: The en-suite bathroom offers a relaxing oasis with a spa tub and marble flooring and vanity.
  • Walk-in Closet: A spacious walk-in closet provides ample storage for clothing and accessories.
  • Lower Level: Includes two additional bedrooms for guests, a media room, and a dedicated play space for the children.

A Nod to the Past

The couple preserved a built-in bookshelf originally used by the previous owner, the rare book curator, and repurposed it to display art and sentimental objects .
