Happydearhappydeer secured his maiden win at his 18th career start, taking the lead near the inside at the 260-meter mark and holding off his rivals in a dirt 1,650-meter race, scmp.com reported.
Happydearhappydeer Breaks Through at Start 18
The odds-on favourite travelled prominently on the fence before kicking clear in the stretch to find plenty at the finish.
Superb Guy and Happy Action Chase the Winner
Superb Guy stayed on well for second after taking off 700m out and coming to the final bend four wide without cover travelling better than midfield, marking clearly his best effort from three starts over the dirt 1,650m. Happy Action plugged on for third after settling third in the run with cover from gate five, maintaining his strong form by running well in both of his career appearances over the same course and distance.
Go Go Go and Hailtothevictors Miss the Frame
Go Go Go finished well near the outside to just miss a placing after launching his run three from the rear from a tricky gate, delivering an improved effort at his third start of the term. Meanwhile, Hailtothevictors rallied to just miss the frame following a patient ride travelling second last, indicating he might be seeking a step up to 1,800 meters after being whacked late in betting.
Rear Runners Complete the Field
Yee Cheong Raider ran on without threatening after making his run from the rear out of the widest draw in the field. My Flying Angel just plodded through the closing stages after enjoying a rails run from a midfield position.
